Meijer ALWAYS out of stuff I want-store is worn out
What is the problem with Meijer? My store is in Michigan City, Indiana.
After the weekend crowds, it is useless to go there expecting to find foods I want; many many items are gone and it takes them until the following Thursday (many times longer) before they restock the shelves. Also out of 6 self-checkouts, 2-3 of them are ALWAYS out of commission. The front doors are always broken. This store opened 1988 and it shows-everything is worn out.
Most of the in-store price scanners don't work either.
We only have here and Wally World (which I never liked) but at least they have what I want and their checkouts work. Get on the ball Meijer!!!
Reason of review: Poor customer service.

I have shopped at Meijer since the early 1980s and now avoid them whenever possible. Your observations also apply to our two stores.
I fear Meijer is now on a vertiginous descent into eventual oblivion due to many, many problems like yours in addition to lack of manned cashiers; prices not scanning correctly; lack of shelves being stocked; and no prices anywhere to be seen for a ton of grocery and general merchandise items. I can see aisle blocked each morning at 9-10 am as employees who obviously started stocking at around 8 am attempt to do their job. I suspect Meijer is attempting to cut costs by not scheduling adequate employees in any department. We have simply walked out, leaving our basket of items when the lanes are filled with people trying to pay.
As long as you have other comparable stores in town just avoid Meijer and go there. For food, you might try Kroger as they have a rather good digital coupon program now.
