Meijer - Cashier Rude and disrespectful to Customer
Cashier told customer I am suspending your order and I am going to take customer behind you because we had more than 12 items another cashier told her she could do this and when I asked her to get a manager over to the line she yelled and pointed to the sign and told us, don't you know how to read I asked her again 2 more times and again she said the same to us then when we told her we would get the manager because she had no right speaking to us that way a Manager came over. When I told the Manager she told use 3 times we did not know how to read the cashier yelled at us in front of Manager and told us we said it to her, The Manager told another cashier to remove cashier from area The cashier was very argumentative to us, The manager also told us that it was not true they cannot refuse to ring us up if we have more than 12 items, the Manager was very nice and finished ringing us up Meijer Flat Rock MI

To all of you crybullies......if the sign says 12 items it means 12!
Agreed. People need too learn too read the register items, onto how much they can and cannot take. It's an shame that there are so many entitled people that get mad and angry at the employees or the managers for not understanding that!
Wow, the person responding under the name "ransom" is a shining example of what is wrong with the Meijer store managers. It's a shame they have that attitude towards their customers.
Agreed. Nobody should have an attitude with anybody. It's sad that people are not taught and educated onto that!
It is also a shame that people are not taught first grade math and reading skills. Why would the OP go to a 12 item or less register with more and expect them to serve her?
Agreed. It's so bad and sad to see any employee or manager go through customers like this!
I worked into retail for years and have seen customers do this and act like cry babies. No manager or employee needs to go through that!
And its an shame, you're not able too tell the difference between right and wrong. This person is clearly calling out an customer who deserved too be called out and confronted. You wound't understand the difference if it bites you into the...
Agreed. It's so sad and bad people are not able to understand that!
While I agree the customer needs to be called out on, asking her "can't you read" is uncalled for?Telling her to leave the line and get in the regular line fine. Telling her to leave the store if she refuses to leave is find.
But asking her if she can read is rude. That is if the OP is stating the truth and not trying to cause trouble because she did not get her way.
But let's just say the OP is stating what really happened. The manager was wrong for asking her if she can read. Then again the OP had no right to demand the manager when she was wrong.
Then again maybe the cashier was wrong since she already took her order. Should not have done so if she was going to suspend the order.
people do know how to read. And people do know how to follow the rules and the policies. It just customers who are acting like children that cannot follow them!
and it's a shame that employees and managers have to deal with entitled customers. There's always two sides to the story.
If the customer knew how to count and read there would not be an issue.
Just because someone is commenting does not mean from the store or from the company. You're stuck onto stupid!
That cashier deserves an award for trying to teach you to read. It's VERY annoying to get 4 or 5 items and have some jerk like you roll in with a full cart and get obnoxious because they want you to adhere to the rules. Please go somewhere else.
To: Ransom: Clearly you're rude and arrogant. Nobody should be treated like *** if they are customers or employees or managers.
Nobody needs too go anywhere. People should be allowed too go where they shop if they are customers or employees or managers. People should feel comfortable and not uncomfortable.
It's sad nobody has taught you and educated you onto that! You're an jerk.
Agreed. This person 'Ransom' is always so mean and nasty too people.
Clearly this person needs too understand there are plenty of employees and managers out there, that are mean and nasty, as much as there are plenty of mean and nasty customers.
Everybody needs too treat everybody with respect. Nobody should disrespect anybody!
Agreed. Everybody needs too respect everybody, if they are an customer or employee or manager. Nobody should be treated like ***
I agree people should be treated with respect, that's why this arrogant shopper should abide by the posted policies and respect store rules. Ignoring signs shows disrespect to the cashier, the store and customers who abide by store policies. She made a fool of herself.
No, this person is speaking the truth. Clearly any customer need too know the rules and the policies before they act high and mighty with the entitlement card or the race card onto the employees or managers.
