Meijer - MPerk scam, coupon joke!
Try to use the $5 off $50 at the Meijer store and see what
a hellish mess that turns out to be. Went to an Ohio
Meijer and got the biggest run-around that took about
35 mins. and NOTHING was resolved.
This is my LAST shopping trip to Meijer. They are crooks.
Krogers has no problem with their coupon clip program, and
it works smoothly. Meijers is just a huge NIGHTMARE.
We are done with their ***. When will Meijers get their
act together. I keep hearing the same thing from other
customers.
Reason of review: Poor customer service.
Monetary Loss: $50.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
Meijer Cons: Costumer service, Atmosphere, Incorrect pricing.
Location: Canal Winchester, Ohio

Digital coupons are great for the under 25 age group who eat, live and breath and seek personal attention with their cell phone. For the remainder of us paper coupons in newspapers and the plastic card the store scans at check out work perfectly and convenient as can be.
I also refuse to give out my e mail and phone number randomly since its nobodies business to track each and everything I buy, to sell my info to advertising companies at their profit, expose me to identity theft risk, or to send me e mails at 3:00 in the morning telling me I can "save 5% off select deli items today only". When a store transfers to serve the "digital society only" My business with the store is discontinued forever after speaking to a store manager.
Wow, that's all stores now a days. Kroger's tracks you as you walk in, to tell managers how many people are in the store. It's a technological era and they're not going to stop it.
Meijer has been doing some very strange things the past couple of years, eg., pharmacy changes for the worse; no longer any day old bakery items for sale; lack of grocery clearance items as in the past; and inadequate stocking in many departments, but especially in the meat department. However, altho their MPerks has some glitches and can be finicky it has worked well for my family.
I used the $5 off coupon today and it worked just fine. Perhaps you didn't really clip the coupon but thought you had. The customer service people can tell you if you clipped it if you don't have a smart phone to access your MPerks account while in the store.
Overall, Meijer has lost alot of our grocery business if you shop their weekly sales and use the MPerks you can do better than at Kroger or WalMart. We have gravitated to Kroger and WalMart more so now that Meijer has made changes to their grocery department but for general merchandise Meijer is still good, especially if you take advantage of the 15% off special days.
