i have been a cashier at meijers for 11 years and have never seen it like it is now. the company has cut hours so drastically that we are unable to keep up with the customer demand. i have always been proud to work for meijers but between the long lines and the fact that we are timed at the registers it is hard to remain the fast friendly cashier that i have always been. we are expected to maintain a 95% standard of speed. that also includes the time it takes the customer to pay cash, write a check,look for the change or use a debit card. the clock doesn't stop till the cash drawer is shut. so if we seem a little hurried you will understand why. i am very sorry you have to wait. it is out of our hands. concerned cashier
